About Lumber

MJB offers hardwood and softwood species in lumber and components for cabinet, furniture, millwork, and other industries. Hardwood species include Red Oak, White Oak, Hard Maple, Soft Maple, Alder and other domestic species. Softwood species include Radiata Pine, Southern Yellow Pine and Eastern White Pine.

We also offer pressure-treated and fire-retardant lumber for millwork and industrial applications.

All of our lumber and solid wood components are properly kiln-dried and conditioned to ensure that they perform to the requirements of the end user.

Softwood

Strong and versatile, softwood is well-known for its adaptability. Softwood is grown all over the world, has a wide range of uses, and is visually attractive. It can be used for both interior and exterior applications, including furniture and flooring as well as decking and for structural purposes. Softwoods are easier to work with and more widely accessible. They also grow more quickly than hardwood, which results in better prices. Compared to other hardwoods, they are more flexible, lighter in weight, and less thick. Softwoods are frequently used to make window frames, interior mouldings, building framing, and sheet products like plywood and fiberboard. The most common softwoods are Pine, Cedar, Redwood, and Douglas Fir.

Hardwood

Hardwood is regarded as the most adaptable material, used for everything from fine veneers and furniture to flooring, construction, and recreational vehicle components. It is an exceptionally attractive material that comes in many varieties of species, attributes, and colors. Hardwoods often give a higher level of strength and durability because of it's more condensed and intricate structure. The most prevalent hardwoods are Meranti, Oak, Maple, Poplar, Walnut, and Birch.
